Dancing for a great cause

There were bands, artists, bollywood stars, celebrity guests and a host of others at ZEE TV ASIA LIVE! But if there was one group that stood out amongst the entire lot it was NU BEAT – the talented dancers from all over the world. Michael, Martin, Marty, Marianne and Celeste, the members of that group danced and mimed to ‘Ek Pal Hai Jeena’ (‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’) with such rhythm and style that the crowds went into an absolute frenzy. So good were they on stage, that it was difficult to believe they were not of Indian origin. The dancers from Nu Beat have performed in Europe, USA, Japan, Taiwan and Africa. And what’s more they actually dance to Arabic and Spanish music. Interestingly all proceeds from their performances go to support the activities of ACTION IN FOCUS with the dancers performing on a full-time voluntary basis. Kudos to this talented young dance group.

The Nu Beat is a talented group of volunteers who have come to Kenya to help with charity shows. They have performed in Europe, USA, Japan, Taiwan & Africa.

Spanish
…and more

All of the proceeds from the performances go to support the activities of Action in Focus, with the dancers performing on a full-time, voluntary basis.

As you can see, the Nu Beat is very international affair, with the dancers themselves coming from all over the World.

This picture was taken at a show we did in conjunction with Kamal Khan.

Jackie oh!

But for lessons in simplicity there is nobody quite like Jackie Shroff. At Skyways Hotel in Slough where he stayed with the rest of the crew of ‘Yaadein’, he mingled with junior artistes, spot boys, technicians as if they were his buddies. Although looking tired from a hectic schedule he made time for a waiting journalist, spoke to her sister who was along with her and confessed that he was missing his children. All along smiling, joking, laughing and cracking a joke or two. What a refreshing change from the normal stars. Jaggu dada Zindabad!

Hrithik has left the building

Normal life is slowly returning to London as the ‘Fiza’ hero has left for the next promo schedule for Yaadein to the United States. Hrithik mania is still very much alive and kicking as was evident in the three odd weeks that he was in town. In fact, director Subhash Ghai had to make last minute changes to shooting venues in order to avoid the crowds. However Hrithik was still seen frequently at Sanderson’s bar in the West End and when he made a surprise visit to Cine world in Feltham along with Kareena to check out the crowd’s response to ‘Fiza’. For all the fame he is experiencing one wonders how he still manages to be pleasant and courteous when he meets someone. If only some other Bollywood stars can emulate him.

ASIAN FACE 2001

IN ASSOCIATION WITH storm model management

The face of 2001

At last, a chance for Asians to make it big in the mainstream modelling world. Tired of the question asked frequently as to why Asians do not make it to the cover of Vogue, Cosmopolitan or GQ, ZEE TV has teamed with Storm model agency to search for an Asian face that will hopefully break the barriers that have been surrounding Asians into entering this glamorous world. Storm has in the past discovered faces like Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson, etc and now hope they can find a face in the Asian community in the UK that can stir up the modelling world. The contest is open to girls and guys below 26 years of age and will take place in January. For further details contact Ravi Darbar on 07977 318760.
